Sequoyah Alumni Banquet, doors open at 6 p.m., Sequoyah High School Cafeteria. Cost, $10. Information: Donna, (918) 341-4047.
DHS Totally Teen Christmas indoor sale fundraiser, 8 a.m.-2 p.m., Claremore Community Center. Concessions will be for sale. Funds raised will go to purchase Christmas gift cards for Rogers County teens. Information: Gloria Conaway, (918) 284-7938, or Penny Burns, (918) 550-9788.
Free community breakfast, 8-10 a.m., Claremore Praise Fellowship, 21205 S. 4120 Rd.
 
SUNDAY Nov. 11
16th Annual Oakhaven Memorial Gardens Veterans Day ceremony, 2 p.m. Public is invited. Veterans will be honored; they are encouraged to wear their uniforms, ribbons, medals, etc.
First United Methodist Church Veterans Day recognition and luncheon. Veterans will be recognized during each of the services at 8:30 a.m., 9:45 a.m. and 11 a.m. Luncheon will follow at noon. FUMC is located at 1615 N. Highway 88 in Claremore.
Rogers County Cherokee Association final meeting of the year. All Cherokees are welcome to for the Thanksgiving dinner at 2 p.m. at the RCCA Building, east of Justus-Tiawah south campus on East 523 Road. RCCA will provide the meat. Bring your favorite dish. The next scheduled meeting will be the second Sunday in January.
 
MONDAY Nov. 12
Will Rogers Library closed for Veterans Day holiday.
Pelivan Transit will be closed for Veterans Day. Business will resume on Tuesday, Nov. 13.
Claremore Hospital Auxiliary Gift Shop Christmas Open House, 12-8 p.m. “Wonders of Christmas” to be on display, with hot apple cider to be served. Regular gift shop hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Proceeds from sales go back into community and support the hospital.
 
TUESDAY Nov. 13
DAR (Daughters of American Revolution) meeting, 10 a.m., St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 1310 N. Sioux. Gail Johnson, retired Navy, will give the program on Oklahoma Veterans and patriotism. Reservations: Loretta Genn, (918) 341-7099.
CHS Band Spring trip meeting for parents and students, 6:30 p.m., in the band room at the Robson PAC. Immediately following will be a band booster meeting. Fundraising and concert info, basketball plans, and more.
 
WEDNESDAY Nov. 14
Foyil United Methodist Church Thanksgiving Dinner, 11 a.m. Cost is $7 for turkey and dressing, meatloaf, all the trimmings and homemade pie. There will also be a bake sale.
Second Wednesday Grand Adventures Luncheon, 11:30 a.m., St. Cecilia Catholic Church. Speaker will be Mike Collier, meteorologist for Channel 8. Reservations: Don, (918) 477-3337 or dfreed@grandbank.com.
 
THURSDAY Nov. 15
“A Night of Comedy” presented by Alpha Sigma Tau 7:07 p.m. Will Rogers Auditorium, Rogers State University. Local comedians Bronson Vaughn, Steven Baucom, Randall Lopez, and Steven King to perform. Cost $3 single or $5 per couple. Doors open at 6:45 p.m. 
Hoovers Have All Mall celebrates the 27th Annual Christmas Open House, 5-9 p.m., 714 W. Will Rogers. Refreshments to be served all evening. Drawings for Hoover Bucks. Information: (918) 341-7878. 
Holiday Hills OHCE (Oklahoma Home and Community Education) meeting, 11 a.m., Rogers County Building. Thanksgiving luncheon. Reservations: Margaret Culp, (918) 341-5735.
CHS Band Spectacular Concert, 7 p.m., Robson PAC. Featuring the pep music of football and basketball. Special guests include the CHS Dance Team and others. Free admission.
 
FRIDAY Nov. 16
First Christian Church Annual Bazaar, Bake Sale and Taco Soup Lunch, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. (dinner served 11-1), Family Life Center, 5th and Florence. Cost is $7 for taco soup, corn muffins, salad, dessert and beverage. Take-out available. Call (918) 607-0473.
