CLAREMORE —
Rogers County voters head to the polls today to cast ballots in the 2012 Presidential Primary election.
Polls will be open until 7 p.m. Voters are reminded to bring a photo ID when voting. Tuesday’s election is the first statewide contest in which voters are required to show proof of identification before voting under a new law approved by voters in 2010.
Claremore residents will vote on three City Charter changes.
Republicans and Democrats will have the opportunity to vote in their primary races Oklahoma has 40 of the 419 delegates up for grabs as one of the 10 states holding a Super Tuesday primary election.
All four GOP candidates have visited the Sooner State in hopes of courting voters, and Rick Santorum made a last-minute stop to the state over the weekend.
Although the Republican primary has attracted the most attention, Democrats are also electing a presidential nominee. Four candidates are challenging President Barack Obama for the nomination.
