CLAREMORE —
A preliminary hearing for a Claremore man held on two counts of manslaughter is scheduled for 9 a.m. Wednesday in Rogers County District Court.
Keaton Leon Hannah, 18, is scheduled to appear in the courtroom of Special Judge Terell S. Crosson in connection with a double-fatality wreck near Verdigris in June.
According to Verdigris Police and Oklahoma Highway Patrol records, Hannah was southbound on State Highway 66 the morning of June 21 when he was involved in a minor rear-end collision at the Gordon Road stoplight.
Hannah then attempted to leave the scene, turning around and heading northbound in the southbound lane, impacting head-on with a second vehicle, an SUV, according to reports.
Of the three occupants in the second vehicle, Eric Augustus Watkins and his one-year-old son, Bryor, both died at the scene, while the third occupant, Ginger Watkins, was transported to a Tulsa hospital and treated for injuries.
Hannah suffered minor injuries for which he was treated at Claremore Regional Hospital, before he was booked into the Rogers County Jail, initially on complaints of second-degree murder.
If convicted, he could face life in prison for the felony charges.
Hannah also faces misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident.
Although bond was set at $302,000, Hannah has remained in Rogers County Jail since the time of his arrest.
