Semi turnover causes fatality in Oologah

CLAREMORE — A Missouri man died from injuries he received Monday morning, when the semi he was driving went off a curve and rolled just south of the Oologah Dam.

A 1999 International Semi driven by 63-year-old Bobby Hill of Sarcoxi, Mo. was southbound on SH88, shortly before 10 a.m., according to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report.

For unknown reasons, the driver failed to negotiate a curve and departed the roadway to the right, rolling the semi one and one-quarter times before it came to a stop, reports indicate.

Hill was transported by OTEMS to St. Johns Hospital in Tulsa where he was pronounced dead upon arrival from massive injuries sustained in the collision.

Reports indicate Hill was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident.

The incident was investigated by Trooper Floyd of Troop B, Rogers County Detachment.
