INOLA —
Nicci Sefton of Tulsa will be appearing at Inola Public Library from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 13, along with six other local authors.
Sefton started her writing career in second grade. Honing her writing skills over the next 10 years, her first book “Luxuria” was published on April 1 of her senior year of high school.
Upon graduation from high school, Sefton continued her education at the local community college. While attending her freshman year she was accepted into the Disney College Program. She worked at Disney World’s Magic Kingdom on Main Street as a Cast Member at the Main Street Bakery and Casey’s Corner.
Sefton is continuing with her pursuit of higher education. She is also doing public speaking in schools and libraries, promoting people to follow their passion. One of her passions is to help other young authors to realize their passion of becoming an author.
“My books are teen fiction books, but enjoyed by all ages,” she said. “My series is called ‘The Deadly Sins’ because I wanted to write something everyone could relate to because it’s human nature. I knew no one would listen to them if it was just about a normal high school boy or girl because it would seem too tangible. But I knew if I put some kind of twist to it and exaggerate the sins’ scenarios it would have adventure and thrills that would draw people in and make them listen.
“Whether we like it or not, vampires today seem to grab our attention everywhere we go. And who better to teach us about sins than, what some people seem to call them, the very essence of sin. They know better than anyone what these deadly sins are capable of and are excellent teachers. My books each have their own lesson to tell.”
Nicci Sefton’s books are available online, at book stores, and through her website at thedeadlysinsbooks.com.
