Inola blows past Westville, 47-7

INOLA — The Inola Longhorns scored the first 40 points before Westville's offense woke up in Thursday's District 3A-6 game.

Behind two touchdown passes by Inola quarterback Michael Lambert, the Longhorns picked up a 47-7 lopsided victory over the Yellowjackets.

Mason Stookey's 1-yard touchdown run in the first quarter as well as Josh Feemster's 34-yard field goal gave Inola an 11-0 lead.

Feemster helped Inola increase that margin to 18-0 with a 50-yard touchdown reception from Lambert. Shortly thereafter, Kolton Morel recovered a blocked punt in the end zone as Inola continued to pound Westville, 25-0.

Lambert, on the Longhorns' next offensive possession, fired his second touchdown pass of the first half, hitting for Stookey for a 23-yard score that put Inola ahead 32-0.

Chase Holbrook capped off the Longhorns' first-half scoring with a 3-yard touchdown run and Lambert completed the two-point conversion pass to send Inola into halftime with a 40-0 lead.

Westville's only touchdown of the night came in the third quarter on Justin Self's 11-yard pass to Trenton McDonald.

Inola added a touchdown in the fourth quarter and came away with the 40-point victory.
