911 advisory board requests trust creation

CLAREMORE — Rogers County Commissioners will likely review a request from the E911 Advisory Board to move the board to a trust authority on Monday.

This comes after multiple discussions with area fire, police and EMS departments and the withdrawal of some of those agencies from participation in the center.
“This is the trust indenture document that we have brought before you to prepare a final draft to go before the board of commissioners.” Commissioner Dan DeLozier said.
This was put on the E911 agenda to get the participants’ opinions of the draft agreement, said E911 Director Janet Hamilton.
The deadline for revisions will be Friday as the advisory board looks to have the item added to Monday’s commissioner’s meeting agenda.
“This has been submitted to everyone for review,” DeLozier said.
The only concern that was raised by participants during the meeting was the issue of a medical director being seated on the trust. 
The medical director would serve a specific function on the trust but the potential for a conflict exists, as that individual would issue opinions.
Hamilton is working to address this issue for the advisory board prior to approval by the commissioners.
DeLozier made several statements explaining the importance of “getting it right the first time.”
He is looking to prevent future issues after the board of county commissioners approved the trust authority. 
Many agencies have been requesting the creation of a trust and through the past year multiple attempts to complete it have been made. For now, advisory board members will be waiting to see if the commissioners will finally move to support the measure.
