COX to broadcast OSSAA Basketball State Championships

OKLAHOMA CITY — FOX Sports Oklahoma and Cox Communications will combine to televise and webcast OSSAA boys and girls basketball state championship games beginning this week.

 

Coverage tips off with this weekend’s Class A and Class B boys and girls championships from the Fairgrounds in Oklahoma City. Title games on Saturday, March 2 will be streamed on FoxSportsOklahoma.com. Cox Communications will webcast quarterfinal and semifinal games played at the Fairgrounds on Thursday, Feb. 28 and Friday, March 1.

 

Boys and girls Class 6A and Class 5A championships on Saturday, March 9 from the Mabee Center in Tulsa will be televised exclusively on the Cox Channel, which is available to Cox Communications customers on channels 3 and 703.

 

Class 4A-2A boys and girls state title games from the Fairgrounds on Saturday, March 9 will be shown on FOX Sports Oklahoma Plus due to overlap Big 12 women’s basketball tournament games on FOX Sports Oklahoma.

 

FOX Sports Oklahoma Plus, a channel used to simultaneously show multiple events, is available to all video providers in the state that carry FOX Sports Oklahoma.

 

Steve Marshall (play-by-play) and Rod Thompson (analyst) will call the games from the Fairgrounds, while Mike Wolfe (play-by-play) and JV Haney (analyst) form the announcing team for games at the Mabee Center.

    Howe and Whatley, as well as Claremore’s Cole Weiesnbach and Cameron Smith, competed with the Bearcats — a competitive baseball team coached by Jenks’ Jeff Owens — at the University of Oklahoma Showcase.

  • Texas Longhorns men's track coach retires

    Texas men's track coach Bubba Thornton is retiring after 18 years and 12 conference championships.
    According to a statement from the school on Monday, Thornton and athletic director DeLoss Dodds mutually agreed to terminate the coach's contract effective Aug. 31. The Longhorns won this year's Big 12 indoor and outdoor championships and finished sixth at the NCAA outdoor championships.

    The puck bounced off the post and rolled across the crease, away from the goal line. The red light flashed briefly, but replays would confirm that Tuukka Rask's shutout streak was intact.
    For the last 122 minutes, 26 seconds of the Stanley Cup finals, the Bruins goalie has prevented Chicago from scoring.
