The Inola High School basketball teams closed out the 2012 portion of their season with a split decision Thursday night in Mannford.
The Lady Longhorns — behind Stevie Rutherford’s game-high 13 points — cruised past Mannford, 44-22.
In the boys’ game, Mannford held Inola’s explosive offense below their average and came away with a 55-35 victory.
Rutherford and the Lady Longhorns got off to a hot start and never looked back. Inola built a 10-2 lead at the end of the first quarter and increased the margin to 27-7 at halftime.
Lauren McDaniel joined Rutherford in scoring with 6 points, while Courtney Williamson and Sam Riddle added 5 each. Kylie Rue and Kaylee Peterson also finished with 4 apiece.
Then, in the nightcap, Taylor Mootry powered Inola’s offense with 10 points, while Travis Hall added 9.
Mannford led the Longhorns, 34-17 at halftime.
