Drillers host Springfield Cardinals on Monday

TULSA — The Tulsa Drillers will welcome the first-place Springfield Cardinals to ONEOK Field for a four-game series from July 16-19.  It will be a matchup between the teams with the two best overall records in the Texas League's North Division. The Drillers won the first-half title, and the Cardinals have occupied first place for most of the second half.

All games in the series will have starting times of 7:05 p.m.

Kent Matthes was one of five Drillers players to homer on the last homestand, hitting two in the final game.

Springfield leads the season series between the two teams with 11 wins against the Drillers in 20 meetings. Tulsa has won 6 of the 12 games played at ONEOK Field. The series will mark the Redbirds final trip to Tulsa during the 2012 regular season.

This four-game set will feature several players that played in the Texas League All-Star Star Game last month, including MVP Oscar Taveras. The Springfield outfielder continues to move up the prospect rankings with his strong season.

The homestand will be highlighted by the third installment of the "Bobblehead Heroes" giveaway, as well as a special Margaritaville-themed Thirsty Thursday.  Monday, July 16 will feature the first 500 fans, ages 5 & up, receiving "Super Hornsby" bobbleheads at the Oil Derrick and Arvest entrances.  This will be the third of six scheduled bobblehead giveaways for 2012.

Other promotions during the homestand will include $2 Tuesday on July 17 and Bark in the Park Night on July 18.

Margaritaville Night will conclude the homestand on Thursday, July 19.

Tickets for all four games are now on sale at the ONEOK Field Ticket Office at 201 N. Elgin Ave. and at TulsaDrillers.com. Tickets are also available by calling (918)744-5901.

Keegan Bradley had no thoughts of a course record, or the possibility of a 59, after consecutive bogeys in the middle of his opening round at the Byron Nelson Championship.

Until his 136-yard wedge shot on his final hole Thursday.

“It was going right at it. (A 59) crossed my mind for a second, and it would be unbelievable if I buried this,” Bradley said. “But I had 3 feet to shoot 60. I was actually very nervous, uncomfortable over it and thank God I made it.”
