The Claremore Sequoyah Eagles dropped a 56-47 heartbreaker to the Dewey Bulldoggers Friday evening in the consolation semifinals of the Oologah Mustangs Basketball Tournament.
After falling to Oologah Thursday night, Sequoyah’s got behind early to Dewey and never could recover.
Dewey led Sequoyah, 11-7 at the end of the first quarter; but the Eagles rallied with 15 second-quarter points to lead 22-20 at halftime.
The Bulldoggers, however, used a strong second-half to outscore Sequoyah, 36-25 and seal the win.
Alex McGoffin sparked Sequoyah with 21 points and Blake Mills added 10.
