Hardin to be inducted into Oklahoma’s Tournament of Champions Hall of Fame

TULSA —

Jenny Hardin, one of a handful of players to have participated in three Oklahoma’s Best high school girls basketball tournaments, is being inducted into the Oklahoma’s Tournament of Champions Hall of Fame on Saturday.
Tournament director Tommy Thompson announced Hardin’s Hall of Fame selection, saying that the Tournament of Champions will take place through Saturday at the Mabee Center on the Oral Roberts University campus in Tulsa.
Hardin led the Claremore Lady Zebras into the Oklahoma’s Best fields in 2002, 2003 and 2004. They finished second twice and placed third once.
Hardin earned all-tournament honors in 2003 and 2004 and finished as the fourth-best career rebounder in tournament history (62 in nine games).
As a junior, the 6-foot-1 Hardin was the tournament’s leading rebounder as Claremore placed third. In that third-place game, she pulled in 14 rebounds in a 33-32 victory over Kansas.
In the opening round of the 2004 tournament, Class 5A Claremore took on 2A, top-ranked Washington, Okla., in a battle of unbeatens.
Hardin harvested 14 points and 11 rebounds as the Lady Zebras dropped Washington, 58-52.
That performance virtually assured her second straight all-tournament selection.
In three tournaments, she compiled 98 points and 62 rebounds.
In each of Hardin’s three seasons in the Claremore lineup, the Lady Zebras used the tournament as a springboard to a state championship.
Hardin, who was selected to the Oklahoma All-State team as a senior, led Claremore to a three-year record of 77-7. Three of those losses came in the Oklahoma’s Best tournament.
Hardin went on to play at Oral Roberts University and Rogers State University.
She is pursuing a master’s degree at Arkansas Tech University.
She joins her high school coach, Mark Campbell, and another Claremore product, Amanda Stone, in the Hall of Fame for the Oklahoma’s Best/Tournament of Champions.
After 12 seasons, the Oklahoma’s Best tournament transitioned into the Oklahoma’s Tournament of Champions in 2011.
Hardin will be inducted during halftime of the girls championship game on Saturday.
