The Will Rogers Junior High seventh-grade Colts completed their perfect season with a 32-0 win over Bishop Kelley Tuesday afternoon at Lantow Field.
The win over Bishop Kelley helped the Colts finish with an 8-0 record.
Running back Ethan Morrow sparked the Colts with three rushing touchdowns, and quarterback Noah Grimett also contributed with a rushing touchdown right before halftime.
Morrow and the Colts got things rolling early with a 12-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. Taylor Davis added the two-point kick and the Colts led Bishop Kelley, 8-0.
Moments later, the defensive pressure from linebackers Jack Meisinger and Creedon Hassell helped set up another scoring opportunity for the Colts.
Morrow, once again, found a crease in the Comets’ defense and raced down the left sideline for a 50-yard touchdown that put the Colts ahead 16-0.
After Grimett’s interception in the second quarter, the Colts needed only one play to take a 24-0 lead into halftime.
From the Colts 25 yard line, Grimett faked the handoff to Morrow and rolled to his right on the bootleg. With the Bishop Kelley defense in pursuit, Grimett avoided the pressure, tucked the ball under his arm and scampered down the sideline for a 75-yard touchdown that put the Colts ahead 32-0 in the third quarter.
