February 3, 2010 — VERDIGRIS — The Verdigris Lady Cardinals improved to 12-5 for the season with a decisive 56-22 Will Rogers Conference victory over Sperry on Tuesday night in the Jack Collins Fieldhouse.
Verdigris raced to an 18-3 first quarter advantage on the strength of hot shooting by senior guard Mallary Schaub who scored 10 of the Lady Cardinals first 16-points.
The Verdigris lead increased to 33-8 at the half and swelled to 48-17 after three quarters before reserves put finishing touches on the 34-point home victory.
“I was really excited with the effort and intensity our entire squad brought to the gym tonight,” said Verdigris coach Gary Kennemer.
Schaub finished with 14.
