Baylor's Griner sets Big 12 career scoring record

LUBBOCK, Texas — Baylor star Brittney Griner has broken the Big 12 women's career scoring record.

Griner scored the first four points in Wednesday night's game at Texas Tech, giving her 2,837 for her career. Oklahoma State's Andrea Riley was the record holder, scoring 2,835 points from 2007-2010.

The 6-foot-8 Griner hit a short jumper on Baylor's first possession, then made two foul shots.

It was the second record in as many games for the senior. Griner set the NCAA record for career blocks in a home win over Oklahoma on Saturday. She also holds the NCAA women's record with 11 dunks.
