WRJH honors NJHS students

CLAREMORE — Parents, teachers and administrators  gathered Wednesday at Will Rogers Junior High   for the induction of several students into the first Claremore chapter of the National Junior Honor Society.

Approximately, 35 students were introduced and received certificates of induction for the nationally recognizes organization.
Officers for the WRJH chapter read the ideals of the organization, including scholarship, service, leadership, character and citizenship.
The students were selected to join the group after reviewing a number of applications.
Each student is required to maintain a grade point average of 3.75 or higher.
Students must also participate in-school activities and out-of-school activities, which are inclusive of religious, sports, leadership, school, and community activities.
During the ceremony, Brynn Oly, chapter sponsor, spoke about “being dynamite” and encouraged students to reach their potential.
“I learned a long time ago dynamite comes in a small package,” Oly said.
Oly and Traci Smith will be working with the students throughout the year.
“The NJHS induction is a special occasion to honor the achievement of our new members,” WRJH Principal Lindsey Schnoeblen said.
Schnoeblen congratulated the students for their achievement.
The students will be participating in a variety of volunteer activities in the community throughout the year.
