Brainiac Brawl benefits Claremore Schools Foundation

CLAREMORE — Claremore Public Schools Foundation (CPSF) will host the 4th annual Brainiac Brawl Saturday evening at Rogers State University’s Centennial Center.

The quiz bowl will feature 30 teams with eight members, each battling for the traveling Brainiac Brawl Champion trophy. Former champions include the Taylor Burrage Lootin’ Lawyers (2010) and the RSU Hillcat BizTeks (2011 and 2012).
“Brainiac Brawl is comprised of six rounds. Each round has a sponsor who provides a ‘Mystery MC’ for their round, said CPSF Executive Director Marla Lillie.
Sponsors include — BancFirst, Claremore Compounding Center, Community Home Health, Hillcrest Hospital, Pelco Structural, RCB Bank and Taylor, Burrage, Foster, Mallett, Downs, Ramsey and Russell.
“Questions for the event have been prepared by the Claremore High School Academic Team. While preparing to represent Claremore this summer at Chicago Nationals, students have taken great care to pull together some of the best questions we have seen,” said Lillie.
In addition, the event features a second championship category-table decorating.
“Each table features a theme and decorations can range from minimal to over-the-top,” she said. “Guests receive ballots to vote for their favorite table decorations.”
A silent auction will also be included, featuring donations from the community and beyond. Auction items include- a full set of braces courtesy of Wyatt-Flint Orthodontics, two portrait packages courtesy of Tom Launius, four passes to Disney World,  freezer courtesy of Metro Builders Supply, $200 gift card from Walke Bros. Meats and a One Harvest food box courtesy of North Park Trinity Baptist, a Pie-of-the Month certificate courtesy of Hammett House, a 32” television courtesy of Wal-Mart, RSU Baseball and Basketball package, catering  for ten courtesy of Rib Crib, boutique line of G-Wear T-shirts courtesy of Julianne Lillie and more.
“The community’s support of the event and the CPSF allows us to celebrate how fun it is to be a ‘Brainiac’ while supporting public education in Claremore,” said Lillie. “Our sponsors, auction donors and guests never cease to amaze me with their generosity and creativity.”
