CLAREMORE —
Jesse “Emmett” Summers went home to be with his Lord on Dec. 4, 2012. Graveside Service will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, Jan. 7, 2013 at Big Cabin Cemetery. He will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife, Edith “Madge” (Roberts) Summers.
Emmett, as most people knew him, was born on June 14, 1918 in Vinita, Okla.. He was one of 9 children born to Calvin Andersen Summers and Maggie (Williams) Summers.
Preceding him in death were his parents, 3 brothers; Homer, Walter, and Alvin, 5 sisters; Eleanor, Lee, Evelyn, and twins Adalene , Arlene and his grandson Dale LaFond.
Emmett is survived by his 3 children; Marilyn Haarstad, Terry Summers and Janice Peppmiller, all residing in the State of Washington with their spouses, along with 9 Grandchildren, 15 Great Grandchildren and 5 Great-Great Grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews and their families, most of which reside in Oklahoma.
Emmett had spent many years in the State of Washington, where he was enlisted in the Navy during WWII and remained after the war. He had also resided in Arizona and returned to Oklahoma in 1995.
Emmett was a Sheet Metal Worker by trade, devoted husband, father and fiddle player. He volunteered much of his retired time to entertaining at various nursing homes in Washington, Arizona and Oklahoma and played until the age of 91. His genuine sense of dry humor and fiddle playing will be sorely missed to all who knew him.
As he would say, “Goodbye, for now.”

A celebration of the life of Dale F. Bruer will be 10 a.m., Monday, June 17 at First Baptist Church in Claremore. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12-5 p.m. on Sunday with family receiving visitors from 3-5. Dale passed away on June 13, 2013. He was 80 years old.
