Born in Seminole, Okla. on March 13, 1929, to Cecil and Ada (Bell) Morgan, Lila was reared and educated in Nowata, OK, graduating from Childress High School. It was while on a blind date that Lila met her future husband. She and James R. Brock married on April 11, 1947. The couple made their home in Nowata for a time until James’ work in the oil fields which took them to several different locations. They lived in Haskell, Texas for quite a few years and this is where Lila worked for the city as a secretary. It was 26 years ago the family moved to the Verdigris area and this has been home since.
Lila’s interests were varied. She enjoyed being outside, so taking care of her yard and fishing took much of her attention. Her greatest love was when grandchildren began arriving and then great-grandchildren. She loved them all and they were the light of her life. She also was great cook and felt blessed to share her meals with her family.
A kind lady with a servant’s heart, Lila will be missed by all that knew her. Those family member that survive include her husband James of their home in Verdigris; her children, Jimmy Brock and wife Barbara of OKC, Jackie Brock and wife Sheila of Midland, Texas and Jeffrey Brock and wife Tearu of Claremore; her grandchildren Jillian, Justin, Jeffrey, Jackie and Jeremy Brock; great-grandchild, Adrian, Andrew, Logan, Katylynn and Jason Brock; her sister, Wanda Jo Brazeal and brother Kenneth Morgan. Lila was preceded in death by her parents, numerous brothers and sisters, daughter Connie Jo Brock and grandson Jason Brock.
