Services for Margie L. Mohler will be 2 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012 in the Chapel of the Garden at Rice Funeral Service. Burial will follow at Oakhaven Memorial Gardens. Margie passed away on Sun., Nov. 11, 2012. She was 87.
Born in Cooper, Tex., on June 28, 1925 to John E. and Vera G. (McGraw) Chism, Margie was raised and educated in her birth community, graduating from Cooper High School. She went on to earn a certificate in office procedures and business machines from Draughn’s Business School in Dallas.
Margie and Eldon D. Mohler met in 1952 and were married two years later in a Dallas, Tex., ceremony in 1954. Their 45-year marriage was blessed with two children. Margie held a number of office manager positions in Texas before Claremore became home in 1974 when she and Eldon opened and operated the Western Auto Store together. She was also involved in her community and was a member of the Eastern Star Lodge #92 since 1984.
Margie loved to travel and in the family fifth wheel made many trips to the mountains in surrounding states. She fished off the coast of Seattle where much to her surprise she caught a shark. She enjoyed the many trips with her close friends in her Eastern Star group. She found much enjoyment in cooking for her family as well as gardening and canning.
Mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Margie is survived by her daughter Melinda Kennedy and Gary Miller of Claremore, her son Kendall Mohler and wife Susan of Adair, grandsons Marcus Kennedy of Claremore and Chase Mohler of Tulsa; brothers Harrell W Chism and wife Dixie and John E. Chism, all of Irving, Texas; and sister-in-law Vera Elwood of Merriam, Kan.; in addition to many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eldon D. Mohler, her parents, and her brother, Glenn Chism.

Rebecca made the journey to heaven on May 5, 2013. She battled cancer of many kinds for the past seven years. She never lost faith in God, claiming victory all the way to the end. She was so spirited and full of life. She loved and cared deeply for all her friends she met through the consignment shops. She loved to visit. Rebecca enjoyed life.
