CLAREMORE — Services for Ruth Lillian Littlefield will be 2 p.m., Friday, Oct. 19, 2012 at Cole Free Will Baptist Church in Mayes County.  Ruth will be laid to rest beside her husband, William “Bob” Littlefield, at Bryan Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Rice Funeral Service.  Friends may visit at the funeral home from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. this evening.  The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00.  Ruth passed away Mon., Oct. 15, 2012.  She was 92.

Bayliss.  After completing her education, Ruth married Bob Littlefield on Feb. 23, 1939, beginning 65 years together.  The couple made their home in Mayes County for several years before permanently settling in the Sequoyah area in 1944.

Ruth’s work titles included nurse aide at St. John, Stanley dealer and assistant to her husband at Littlefield’s Feed and Produce, but the responsibilities of nurturing her five children were her first priority.  Leisure time activities included painting, sewing, gardening and reading.  She was a member of Rogers County Demonstration Club, participated in singing conventions where she learned to play and sing, and was a long-time member of Cole Free Will Baptist Church.

Dedicated mother and grandmother, Ruth is survived by her children Shirley Nixon and husband, Fred and Roger Littlefield and wife, Brenda, all of Claremore, Roma Estes-McDaniel and husband, Jerry, of Tahlequah, and daughter-in-law Pat Littlefield, also of Claremore; 12 grandchildren and many great and great, great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, her parents and grandparents and sons James “Eldon” Littlefield and Richard Littlefield.
