CLAREMORE — Randy Lee Major, 56, of Lee’s Summit, Mo. passed away Nov. 11, 2012 at his home with his loving wife, Liz Major by his side.  Visitation will be Saturday Nov. 17 at Church on the Rock Outreach Center 1700 SW Market St. Lee’s Summit, MO from 2-3:30 p.m.  Funeral service will begin at 3:30 p.m following the visitation. Cremation to follow service. Memorial contributions may be made to  Step Up for Down’s Syndrome, Kansas City Hospice, or Church on the Rock Outreach Center.  Flowers can be sent to the church.

Randy was born on Jan. 6, 1956 in Kansas City, Mo.  Randy grew up in the Kansas City area graduating from Hickman Mills High School in 1974. He married Elizabeth Ann Hause on Nov. 6, 1976 and recently celebrated 36 years of marriage. Randy began working at 7 Eleven after high school, where he met his wife.  After which, he was employed by the Crawford’s at Raytown Dodge. He then began his lifelong career as a journeyman plumber in the commercial construction business. Randy was very proud to be associated with the Plumbers Local 8 in Kansas City. He then retired after 25 plus years in the union.

Randy was very social and had a large circle of friends he enjoyed spending time with.  He loved watching auto racing and the Kansas City Chiefs games, especially when they were winning.  Another past-time that he enjoyed was striper fishing at Beaver Lake.  Recently, Randy took his love of fishing to the state of Alaska.  Some of the things he truly enjoyed were the numerous Caribbean vacations taken with his wife, Liz, and close friends.  Randy will be greatly missed by all who knew him.  His hearty laugh and sense of humor will be a void in the lives of all those he touched.

He was proceeded in death by his father, Robert Major; mother, Delores Barber; sister, Rhonda Major and nephew, Jason Major.

Survivors include Liz Major of the Home, niece Jessie Frederick and husband Michael of Overland Park, Kan., stepfather Ed Barber of Raytown, Mo., brother-in-law and sister-in-law Steve and Jan Hause of Claremore, Okla., brother-in-law and sister-in-law Charlie and Melissa Echols of Adair, Okla., numerous nieces and nephews and many friends that he cherished; and his babies, girl cat, Ella, and boy cat, DJ.
