CLAREMORE —
Funeral services for Gary Schulze, 81, Chouteau, will be held on Monday, Aug. 23, 2010, 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Chouteau. Pastor Tom Landsaw will officiate and burial will follow at Dawes Cemetery, Chelsea. Services are entrusted to Stephens Memorial Chapel.
Mr. Schulze was born February 12, 1929 in Chelsea to Emil and Selma (Radke) Schulze. He departed this life on August 18, 2010 in Tulsa at the age of 81 years 6 months and 6 days.
Gary had lived in Chouteau since 1966. He was married to Opal Westhaven on June 25, 1966 in Chelsea; she preceded him in death on Jan. 7, 2005. Gary had worked for Pryor Schools in the Maintenance Department for over 32 years. He was a member of the Chouteau First Baptist Church, Mayes County Retired Teachers and Retired Oklahoma Educators Association. Gary enjoyed woodworking, carpentry, gardening and fishing. He spent a lot of time at the Chouteau Senior Citizen Center visiting with his friends. Gary liked taking trips to Branson and doing Word Searcher Puzzles. Family time was very important to him.
Gary is survived by daughter Sonya Anderson and husband, Darrell of, Claremore, brothers Theodore Schulze and wife, Frances, of Chelsea, Earnest Schulze and wife, Joann, of Chelsea, Clarence Schulze and wife, Jeanie, of McPherson, Kan., Edwin Schulze of Chelsea, sisters Lillian Schulze of Joplin, Mo., Margaret Sutton of Claremore, Pearl Harper of Claremore and Bernice Walker and husband, Johnny, of Chelsea, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Norman and Albert.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, Aug. 22, 2010 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Stephens Memorial Chapel.
