Graveside service for Dessie Marie Brewer will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012 at Oakhaven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Rice Funeral Service. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday., Nov. 20 at the funeral home.
Dessie passed away on Friday, Nov. 16, 2012 at her home with family by her side. She was 71.
Born Feb. 21, 1941 in Bristow, Okla. to Raymond D. and Rosie E. (Shelley) Huff, Dessie was the ninth of 13 children. In 1956 she married Lloyd D. Bellamy and together they raised three children. In 1974 Dessie married Carl F. Brewer and her fourth child was born to this union.
Besides being a wonderful wife and mother, Dessie worked as a nurse’s aide in the area nursing homes and also as a private sitter for many years. Free time was spent enjoying her family. Her hobbies included embroidery, reading, gardening and fishing with her best friend, Ruby. Dessie was able to travel with her husband Carl to many different places in the U.S.
Family members who survive include her children, Rosa Hays and husband Billy of Chelsea, Dalene Brewer of Claremore, Roger Brewer of Norman, Okla. and Carl Brewer of Broken Arrow, her grandchildren “Honeydoll” Lucy, Austin and Angel; her brothers, William, Lonnie, LeRoy and Raymond and her sister, Ora Garibaldi and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Carl, her grandson Charles, great-grandson Damon, her siblings, Roy Dean, Jimmy, Kenneth, James, Lola Mae, Edna Kaline and Irene, and sister-in-law, Edith.

Graveside service for Bonnie Mae Thompson will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, May 21, at Oakhaven Memorial Gardens with Rev. David Alessi officiating. Rebecca made the journey to heaven on May 5, 2013. She battled cancer of many kinds for the past seven years. She never lost faith in God, claiming victory all the way to the end. She was so spirited and full of life. She loved and cared deeply for all her friends she met through the consignment shops. She loved to visit. Rebecca enjoyed life.
