Tuesday Feb. 9, 2010 — OKLAHOMA CITY — Oklahoma City University came back from an 18-point deficit in the second half to knock off Rogers State, 73-72, Saturday at Abe Lemons Arena in Oklahoma City.
The Hillcats built a 15-point first-half lead behind the strong play of senior post Sylvester Spicer. Spicer tallied 12 points in the opening half, including a pair of three-pointers.
The Hillcats shot an incredible 63.6 percent from the perimeter in the first half.
Things seemed to be going right for the squad from Claremore as three Hillcats scored eight points each.
In the second half, the three-point shot seemed unattainable for the Hillcats as they shot only 20 percent from downtown.
Deveric Taylor added another eight points in the second half tie Spicer with a team-high 16 points for the game. Forward John Boyd scored 14 points to round out the Hillcats with double-digit points.
