OOLOGAH —
The quest for the Class 4A state softball championship begins today for the No. 10 Oologah Lady Mustangs.
Back in the spotlight for the first time since 1999, the Lady Mustangs square off at 1 p.m. against No. 4 Purcell (34-4).

The Lady Rams tangle with No. 8 Edmond North (32-8) at 3 p.m.
Oologah’s game will be on Field 4, while Owasso will compete on Field 3.
The Lady Mustangs are coached by Andrea Scott-Vaughan, who excelled in high school softball at Claremore.
Also, Oologah is riding a 15-game winning streak and are led by the lone senior Delaney Gray.

The Claremore High School freshmen Zebras brought home the Metro Lakes title last Monday night at Bishop Kelley, thanks to the “Heisman-like” performance of all-purpose standout Dustin Basks.

Looking like former Michigan Wolverine sensation Charles Woodson, Basks proved to be ‘unstoppable’ while leading the Zebras to a 33-13 victory over the previously unbeaten Comets. -
