CLAREMORE —
The Oklahoma Department of Commerce recently announced a grant award to the City of Claremore for a grant for $496,893 to complete a second entrance road into the North Business Park to support the AXH Air-Coolers expansion.
When completed, the new entrance road will extend North from Lowry Drive into the North Business Park providing access to AXH’s 13 acre expansion site.
The grant was secured by CIEDA in order to accommodate the expansion effort. CIEDA Executive Director Tim Hight was pleased by the announcement.
“AXH has grown consistently since its 2005 arrival in Claremore. CIEDA is glad to continue supporting their efforts and will continue to provide infrastructure development services to a growing business community”.
The AXH Air Coolers expansion involves the construction of a new 140,000 foot manufacturing facility in the late spring which will create at least 50 new jobs with the potential for as many as 150 jobs for the growing company and will represent their third manufacturing plant.
AXH Air-Coolers President, Ken Jones commented on the expansion, “over the past five years Claremore has proven to be an ideal location for our company from the standpoint of both facilities and a quality employee base.
The City of Claremore and CIEDA have worked with us closely along the way as we’ve continued to grow and they have been a valuable partner in our success.”
The infrastructure grant is a partnership between AXH Air Coolers, CIEDA, City of Claremore and the Grand Gateway Economic Development Association.
Road construction is expected to begin in the late winter or early spring.
