Street closing for water main repair

CLAREMORE —

City of Claremore crews are working to repair a water main at the intersection of Sioux and Blue Starr after a break caused damage to the water line.
The street will be closed until Jan. 14 as workers complete the road repairs.
The break occurred at the end of last week, according to Communications Director Cassie Woods. Although the repairs to the water line have been completed additional repairs to the street will be made this week, she added.
“This is a very busy intersection and is going to require us to detour traffic around the work site,” Woods said.
The detour will take traffic through a nearby residential area, according to Woods.
