CLAREMORE — Three people were killed Thursday afternoon when an man tried to pass a semitrailer.
'The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says three men were killed in a head-on collision.
Authorities say the deadly crash happened Thursday afternoon on East 145th Avenue in the county. An accident report says that 29-year-old Owen McCool of Tulsa was trying to pass a semitrailer when he struck another car head-on.
Authorities say McCool was taken to a hospital, where he later died.
Authorities say both passengers in the second car were killed. The highway patrol identified the victims as 21-year-old Clifford Colyer IV and 23-year-old Garold Benner, both of Tulsa.
The driver of the semitrailer wasn't injured.
