CLAREMORE —
Under the terms of the contract, the company’s products will be available to all state agencies and more than 1900 cooperative members in the state of Texas through the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts Online Ordering System, TxSmartBuy.
This three-year contract will enable Texas city and county purchasers to search for and order goods and services online at a fixed price.
“This is a huge opportunity for Pelco,” said Phil Albert, president, Pelco Structural. “Cities, towns, and counties will enjoy significant savings on their traffic signal poles using this program, because the state was able to negotiate much better prices due to the volume.
“Through the TxSmartBuy program, we can offer smaller entities the same excellent pricing,” he said.
Pelco will ship all products ordered through the TxSmartBuy within 60 days of order, and, as with all Pelco orders, any of the nearly 50 traffic signal combinations will be customized to buyer’s specifications.
Albert said Pelco officials expect the first year of its contract with the TxSmartBuy program to generate more than $1 million in orders from officials, including city managers, engineers, and public works directors.
“The pace of bookings we’ve seen in the first ten days of the contract is extremely encouraging,” said Don Goodell, regional sales manager for Pelco.
“These customers know how easy it is to purchase online, and save time and money not bidding out these orders,” he said. “We are already filling orders from Post, Athens, El Paso, Seguin and Austin, Texas.”
Pelco Structural, LLC, designs, manufactures, and delivers steel poles for infrastructure products used for traffic control, sports lighting, utility transmission and distribution, cellular telephone transmission and informational signage.
As a licensed private carrier, Pelco employs its own over-the-road equipment and staff to deliver its products to 41 states.
Texas state and local government purchasers can search online for items they need and can place orders in the TxSmartBuy system. Per contract requirements, all orders placed in the state contract will ship within 60 days, and purchasers can use the online comparison tool to review price and product details side by side for best value.
