CLAREMORE — Approximately 250 people visited the 2010 Back to School Bash held recently at the Claremore Community Center.

Service providers and members of the Rogers County Coalition offered families resources, kids’ haircuts, vision screening, and a chance to win $1,000 in prizes.

The Drug Free Communities Project of Volunteers for Youth and the Rogers County Coalition worked to bring together local agencies and services that families might access in times of need.

“This was the second year for the Back To School Bash and we plan to offer it annually as an outreach to our local families,” said Bob Hoelle, Rogers County Coalition President.

Many of those attending won gift cards from Wal-Mart Supercenter, Cherokee Youth Choir CDs, an IPOD Nano, and more. Grand prize winner of a Wii System with Fitness Bundle was Peter Vanvleet.
