CLAREMORE —
The bridge on Industrial Boulevard between Blue Starr Drive and Lowry is now reopened to through traffic.
The bridge closed on March 6, to be replaced. At that time the contractor, Ira Green Construction, was given 120 days to complete the project. The project was completed this week, just in time to meet the deadline.
The City of Claremore inspector has performed the preliminary walk-through, in which construction was found to be satisfactory. The striping has also been completed and the guardrails are up, which has allowed for the reopening.
The final inspection is scheduled for next week, but since no problems are expected based on the findings of the preliminary inspections, city officials believe there is no reason to leave the bridge closed.
The total cost of the Industrial Bridge replacement project was $294,344.79, which was under the budgeted amount.
