November 8, 2009 — A missing Claremore woman has been found and her alleged captor is in Rogers County Jail.
A Rogers County Sheriff’s office spokesperson Friday confirmed that Dustie Dawn Sikes, 27, had been located in Nowata County.
Sikes’ mother, Gwen Noble of Claremore, had filed a missing person’s report on Sikes on Oct. 28 after not seeing or hearing from sikes in several weeks and fearing for her safety.
Sikes had last been seen by an off-duty sheriff’s deputy in Chelsea with her boyfriend, Matthew Jason Brown, on Oct. 2.
Although the deputy said Sikes appeared to be with Brown voluntarily, he had previously been incarcerated for domestic assault & battery by strangulation (against Sikes). Based on this and the nature of their relationship, Noble felt Sikes was being held (by Brown) against her will and in danger.
Brown, 23, was found with Sikes in Nowata County Thursday, arrested, and booked into Rogers County Jail on assault charges.
