Council approves agreement with ODOT

By Tom Fink

November 3, 2009 — Claremore City Council members Monday night approved a Supplemental and Modification Agreement with the Oklahoma Department of Transportation regarding project funding on the BNSF Separation Project.

“This (agreement) is a correction for funds available for reimbursement concerning previous Supplemental Modification Agreements — including the feasibility study, Supplemental and Modifications number one, two, and three — for the Burlington Northern/Santa Fe Separation Project (BNSFSP), previously referred to as the ‘Elevated Track Project,’” said Troy Powell, Claremore city manager.

“The cost re-imbursement for all Supplemental and Modification Agreements concerning the BNSFSP to date is $1,653,151,” he said. “Supplemental Agreement number three was miscalculated by ODOT in the amount of $1,506,351, so it was necessary by the Department of Transportation for the city (of Claremore) to accept another Supplemental and Modification Agreement — number four — for the full re-imbursements in Federal-Aid Funds.”

Powell reminded council members that the ODOT-provided monies for the project is at no cost to the city.

Council members unanimously approved the agreement, with Ward IV Councilwoman Flo Guthrie absent.
