Two vehicle crash sends man to hospital

CLAREMORE — A two-vehicle collision just before midnight on Friday sent a Norman man to the hospital.

Nathan Jenkins, 28, of Norman was driving east on the Will Rogers Turnpike three miles west of Claremore when his 2006 Honda van ran off the road, struck a guardrail and rolled on to its side, according to Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Fred Levy.
A 2012 Chevrolet Sonic was driven by Robert Switala, 42, of Claremore hit Jenkins’ vehicle that was in the roadway and rolled on to its side.
Jenkins was transported to St. John Hospital in Tulsa and admitted with head and trunk external injuries, according the OHP report.  Switala was uninjured.
Trooper Levy stated Jenkins was sleep and the cause of the collision was driving under the influence.
