Copper stolen at courthouse construction site

CLAREMORE — A burglary attempt was reported just after 6 a.m. on Sept. 20 at the new courthouse construction site located near downtown Claremore.

The suspect was identified as 40-year-old Chadwick T. Warden of Claremore.

Officer Jordan Keesler of the Claremore Police Department apprehended and arrested the suspect after a routine traffic stop around 10 a.m.

Keesler said Warden had a substantial amount of copper in the back seat of the vehicle which was later linked to the copper stolen from the courthouse earlier that morning.

Suspect was charged with second degree burglary, copper theft and possession of burglar implements.

Warden is currently in Rogers County Jail and is being pressed for similar burglaries.

His bond has been set at $30,000.

Court date is Oct. 3.
