Blue Starr crash sends one to hospital

CLAREMORE — The morning commute proved dangerous for a driver in Claremore this morning, as her Dodge Neon was struck by a semi truck at the intersection of Blue Starr Drive and SH66 just after 7 a.m.

Both vehicles were attempting turns on solid green lights, according to preliminary reports from the Claremore Police Department. The Neon’s driver was turning east from heading south on SH66 and the semi was turning west from SH 66 north.

The semi struck the Dodge on its front passenger side. The unidentified female driver of the Dodge was freed with the jaws of life and transported to Claremore Regional Hospital where she was stabilized and taken to a Tulsa hospital, where she was admitted in unknown condition.

The driver of the semi and his small canine traveling companion were unharmed.
