OKLAHOMA CITY — A 59-year-old retired Oklahoma City business owner is the latest candidate to announce he's running to become Oklahoma's governor.

Republican Roger Jackson filed a statement of organization with the state Ethics Commission last week indicating he plans to seek the open seat.

He's the fourth Republican to file such paperwork. Others include U.S. Rep. Mary Fallin, state Sen. Randy Brogdon and Yukon businessman Robert Hubbard II. Democratic candidates include Lt. Gov. Jari Askins and Attorney General Drew Edmondson.

Term limits prevent Democratic Gov. Brad Henry from seeking a third consecutive term.

Jackson acknowledges his candidacy is a long shot, but says he wants to bring awareness to what he considers wasteful spending in state government.
