October 10, 2008 — The Rogers County Excise Board on Thursday approved the county budget for FY 2008-2009, which began July 1.
County offices have been operating on temporary appropriations since that time, a routine procedure for this time of year.
Sitting on the board for the first time was former county commissioner Gerry Payne. Payne was appointed by Judge Dwayne Steidley following the resignation of Sham Coppinger earlier this year.
County Clerk Peggy Armstrong asked the board for clarification on a point regarding the $200 per month raise in salary for county employees this year.
The board specified that the raise will be retroactive back to July 1 for all employees who are, as of the date of the budget’s approval, in county employ.
County employees did not receive a raise last year.
