October 8, 2008 — New construction of Highway 20 at Keetonville Hill continues Thursday when that portion of the road will be narrowed down to one lane.
According to the Oklahoma Department of Transportation, crews will be making final repairs Thursday to the new area of sliding that caused the highway to be closed four days over the weekend.
Only one lane of the highway will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday. Drivers can expect short elays while crews flag traffic through the workzone.
The new area of sliding was observed as crews were making final repairs to a 300-foot sliding section that caused the roadway to crack and slide down the hill in April. Heavy rains are said to have caused both incidents of sliding, according to ODOT engineers.
