A bumpy ride

Tom Fink

Record rainfalls continue to wreak havoc on Highway 66 through Claremore, as water saturation repeatedly shifts the ground beneath roadways, leading to pothole-inducing tears in the asphalt. As Highway 66 is a state highway, repairs to it fall under the Oklahoma Department of Transportation’s jurisdiction to repair, although City of Claremore leaders have been negotiating with ODOT for consent to repair roadway schisms.
