Let them eat cake!

Gun museum celebrates 40 years


June 26, 2009 — J.M. Davis Arms & Historical Museum staff members will be celebrating the 40th anniversary of the museum’s opening this Saturday, June 27. Curator Jason Schubert (left) and tourism coordinator Kim Thompson will be on hand to commemorate the occasion with cake and newest exhibitions, including the Mason Hotel lobby, Medal of Honor display of Claremore and Oklahoma veterans, and the collection of John Wayne movie posters and western memorabilia, among others. Additionally, Saturday marks the 122nd anniversary of Davis’ birth. Cake and punch will be served free to the public from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
