Accident slows morning commute

April 9, 2009 — Southbound traffic on Highway 66 north of Claremore was reduced to one lane Thursday morning following a traffic accident. The accident occurred shortly after 7 a.m.

A white Chevy pick-up, driven by David Petty of Claremore, was southbound on 66, in the right lane, when it was struck by a red Volvo crossing the highway at North Sioux. The impact forced Petty’s truck across the highway and off the right shoulder into a ditch.

The unidentified driver of the Volvo was taken to the Claremore Indian Hospital by Pafford Ambulance. She

was alert and talking. Petty was not seriously injured.
