April 9, 2009 — Powers Park in Claremore officially re-opened Tuesday night, following months of remodeling projects and field improvements, including the remodel of the front four fields, the entryways, and the concession stand. New light poles and lights, irrigation system, sod, covered bleachers and dugouts, concrete walkways, brick façade on concession stand, fencing and more also were part of renovations. During opening ceremonies, Claremore Mayor Brant Shallenburger recognized those who made the renovations a reality, including Claremore city representatives, the Rogers County Baseball Association and its commissioners, Graham Construction of Owasso, and Pelco Structural of Claremore, who donated all the new steel light poles in the park at no cost to the city. In appreciation of Pelco’s generosity, city leaders named field nine “Pelco Field.”
