Fourth grader confesses to bomb threats

Foyil — A fourth grade boy has confessed to writing a bomb threat on the bathroom wall at Foyil Elementary School on Wednesday.

Rogers County Investigator Shane Reynolds said after being questioned by a teacher, an 11-year-old boy stated he wrote “BOM at 1:40” in the boys bathroom on Wednesday afternoon.

“He was the one who discovered it and reported it to a teacher,” Reynolds said. “When the teacher saw the message, she went back and compared the boy’s handwriting to the message and discovered he actually wrote the message.”

Reynolds said he took the child to Rogers County Juvenile Services where he may have to serve community service as part of his punishment.

Two separate bomb threats were found this month — one on Feb. 12 and one on Tuesday.

The Feb. 12 threat was also found in a bathroom in the elementary and Tuesday’s threat was found in a boys bathroom in the administration building.

According to Reynolds, the 11-year-old is not a suspect in the other incidents.

“We are still investigating those incidents,” Reynolds added.
