Foyil: Second bomb threat in two weeks

By Krystal J. Carman

February 25, 2009 — Students at Foyil Schools were evacuated for the second time in nine school days because a bomb threat was found in the administration building Tuesday.

The message read, “Bomb ... in tech room ... and cafe” on the boys bathroom stall wall in the administration building. The superintendent’s office was alerted at 10:28 a.m.

“We had everyone evacuated in 14 minutes and 10 minutes later, all the students were accounted for at the evacuation site,” Superintendent Pat Gougler said.

This latest threat comes less than two weeks after a bomb “message” was found written in ink on the boys bathroom wall in the elementary building. According to Rogers County authorities, Tuesday’s bomb threat was discovered approximately 10 minutes earlier than the bomb threat found Feb. 12.

After a thorough search of the school’s campus, no explosive devices were found and the students were allowed to return to school.

This is the fourth time in two years the Foyil campus has had to evacuate due to bomb threats, according to Rogers County authorities.
