Claremore — Claremore Police need your to catch the person or persons responsible for several vehicular break-ins over the weekend.
According to Claremore Assistant Chief of Police Stan Brown, Claremore police received reports of six vehicle break-ins or attempted break-ins in the northeast part of the city, starting early Sunday morning.
“At this point, we’re still looking for leads in this case, but it’s our speculation that the burglaries are a result of a party that occurred in the region, after which a person or persons broke into several nearby vehicles,” Brown said.
Items reported stolen included tools, a tool belt, a tool box, a welding kid, a car stereo, an MP3 player, and several other miscellaneous items of undisclosed value.
Although the case is still being investigated, Brown encouraged the public to not leave items such as GPS systems, cell phones, cameras, electronics, or other valuables in plain sight and to always be sure to lock the vehicle when left unattended.
Persons with any information regarding the vehicular break-ins are encouraged to contact the Claremore Police Department at 341-1212.
