Claremore Progress
CLAREMORE —
B&B Theatres has announced the Claremore Cinema 8 has upgraded all projection equipment to the most up-to-date digital technology.
All eight screens now feature digital projectors. As part of the upgrade to all digital, the Claremore Cinema 8 added three additional 3D screens allowing 3D technology to now be shown on up to four screens at a time.
In addition, the all new Dolby 7.1 sound system will soon be installed, creating the ultimate movie going experience. Using Christie® 2K technology, digital projection creates a perfect presentation: no more film scratches and crystal clear images for every single presentation.
Digital technology in all auditoriums allows the theatre to show more 3D movies. As 3D continues to amaze customers, more movies are being released with this technology; an all digital facility means customers will be able to enjoy the films in 3D as opposed to the 2D alternatives.
In addition, with digital cinema, alternative content is also possible. In future years, it could be possible to watch the Super Bowl in 3D, a live performance of a popular concert, a NASCAR race, and other live events. Connecting a gaming device to the projectors is easy and creates a gamers paradise. Connecting a laptop turns an auditorium into a great place for a business meeting. The possibilities are endless!
The Claremore Cinema 8 will be the second B&B Theatres location and one of the first theatres in Oklahoma to receive the new Dolby 7.1 sound system.
This sound system adds more speakers to the auditoriums, creating a 360 degree immersive experience. With stadium seating, Dolby 7.1, and Digital 3D, Claremore and surrounding area patrons will have completely immersive movie going experience – one of the best presentations in the Midwest.
B&B Theatres has been family owned and operated since 1924 when Elmer Bills Sr. opened a movie house in Salisbury, Missouri where the future Mrs. Bills played the piano for silent movies.
During the company’s 86 years, B&B has seen the arrival of sound, Technicolor, Cinemascope, surround sound, stadium seating, and now the arrival of digital movies.
B&B Theatres is the 25th largest theatre chain in North America and operates 199 screens in Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Florida. Along with Claremore, other B&B Theatres in the area include locations in Sapulpa, Miami, Oklahoma City, and El Reno.
An all digital 10-screen facility in the St. Louis suburb of Wildwood, MO will open in early October. B&B Theatres has corporate offices in Salisbury, Liberty, and Fulton in Missouri and has additional offices in Iola, Kansas and Los Angeles, California.
