November 24, 2009 — Thanks for coverage of Hospital Auxiliary
Dear Editor,
Thank you for the coverage you gave to the art piece, “Open Hearts, Helping Hands” given to Claremore Regional Hospital as a tribute to the mutually beneficial 40 year association with the Hospital Auxiliary.
Please let me take this time to publicly thank the Charter Members and the many guests from the community, the hospital and the Auxiliary who came to celebrate this landmark occasion.
The guest speakers did a terrific job of highlighting the significance of this connection between hospital and auxiliary: Sen. Sean Burrage presented a citation from the State of Oklahoma commemorating this event.
Dr. Danette Boyle expressed her conviction that the Auxiliary has taken their humble intention to “help a little bit” to a whole new dimension and has made a huge impact in the RSU Nursing Program and therefore to the medical community as a whole.
Dave Chaussard, CEO of the hospital, gave a heart-felt message of thanks and deep appreciation for all that the Auxiliary members have done through their tens of thousands of hours of volunteer help and support to give comfort and aid to the patient, assist the visitor and lighten the load of doctors and staff. The short program was topped off with home made refreshments provided by Auxiliary members.
Strong and active volunteer groups are a mark of a healthy, vibrant community and the members of the Hospital Auxiliary are pleased and proud to be of service...and God willing, we’ll be around for a few more decades.
