July 4, 2009 — If you are studying for your GED, check out GED Connection, a series of 39 half-hour shows that can help you study and practice all five subjects covered in the GED exam. GED Connection has practice tests that show you what to expect and what skills you need to improve before taking the test. GED Connection is a great tool to use with GED classes or a tutor. GED Connection TV will air on OETA from June 1-July 31st, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, Monday through Friday. Programs are also available for viewing on Cox Communications on Demand FreeZone service or by going to www.GetReadingOklahoma.org to view the programs that have already been aired.
The Rogers County Literacy Council is also working with the Oklahoma Department of Libraries by promoting another series called TV411, a series of 30 half-hour programs created just for adults. TV411 focuses on reading, writing, filling out forms and applications, using fractions and taking tests. In the programs you will hear from popular actors and fellow adult learners as they show you ways to improve your skills in the real world.
TV411 shows will air on OETA from June 1-July 31st, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. and at 11:00 a.m., Monday through Friday. Programs are also available for viewing on Cox Communications n Demand FreeZone service or by going to www.GetReadingOklahoma.org to view the programs that have already been aired.
